Your therapy is about you, but the relationship between us really matters, so I wanted to share a little about me and what led me to become interested in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy.
At university I studied philosophy and became increasingly interested in religion, gaining a great respect for all religions. I especially loved Buddhism in my early years but I came to find peace in Islam in my mid-twenties.
I have spent much of my adult life teaching religion and philosophy in secondary schools. I then moved into a role focusing around well-being and mental health in a secondary girls school.
Through a series of significant life events that left me sleepless, overthinking and feeling chronically unwell, I sought a my own therapy. Just like the therapy I now offer, this was hypnotherapy and psychotherapy I received was life changing for me. It felt like it was made just for me.
And so began the drawing together of the strands I had lived through so far and embarked on the journey of becoming a therapist. My experience in philosophy, faith, learning, charity as well as my own trials in relationships, bereavement and abuse converged to create meaning when I sought hypnotherapy and psychotherapy. I bring all of this to colour my approach in my hypnotherapeutic practice in a way that is meaningful for you.
I am married, I have two wonderful daughters and an cat. My interests include learning the ney, learning the Turkish language, writing, reading, walking in nature. My favourite philosophers are Ibn Arabi and Plato and my favourite psychologist is Jung.
