Beginning university can be such an exciting time full of promise and possibilities. Perhaps you will be living out or perhaps you will be living out. Either way this signifies a huge change in life, both in the fact that you are now considered an adult by the wider world and the fact that you suddenly have many more responsibilities.
But as well as this, there is a change to the way you socialise and a change to the people you socialise with. The persona that worked for you at school may or may not still serve you in university. As a Muslim student, perhaps the idea of self renewal excites you, perhaps you see it as daunting.
Life to this point may have had difficulties at home and at school. And your responses to situations as they arise may be fuelled by hurts that you have not yet processed.
I offer therapy to Muslim students and to prepare Muslim students for university life. Who are you now? What do you want to be? Where do you want to go? What is holding you back and what mistakes are you worried you could make?
University is a time of freedom, but with that freedom inevitably comes temptations. It is a time of growth and change and with that comes a variety of directions.
If you would like to settle your inner ground before you go to university, or work through issues such as overwhelm, social and family issues, sex and relationships or drugs and alcohol, please reach out for therapy roseshifa@outlook.com or 07852702508
